FLYER EHP 2010 web1 Innovation: EHP

General Guidelines

EHP yarn has one third the stretch of polyester and therefore is less “forgiving”.

  • Polyester elongation at break is ~12% at break vs. less than 4%  for EHP yarn.
  • Best results are obtained when the wraps are kept as evenly as possible.
  • Sling building speeds should be reduced and all tensions equalized to maintain uniform wrap lengths.
  • Slack or drooping ends will NOT “pull out” as they do with  polyester slings.

Proof testing (up to five times at 2x WL) is recommended for all High Performance Roundslings.Per Cordage Institute CI-1905, maximum temperature for HMPE roundslings is 158 F (70 °C).
